The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office has released the 911 call made by the mother of 5-year-old Dulce Maria Alavez, the Bridgeton girl whose disappearance has sparked intense search efforts.
Operator: "911, where is your emergency?"
Mother: “I can't find my daughter! We were at the park. People said that somebody probably took her. We're at Bridgeton Park."
Alavez disappeared from Bridgeton City Park back on Sept. 16 around 4:50 p.m. while her mother, Noema Alavez Perez, sat in the car, about 30 yards away.
According to investigators, Alavez was possibly taken by a man in a red van.
Today, officials gave an update on the investigation.
"More than 200 locations, including abandoned buildings and desolate areas, have been searched, including several extensive searches of the Bridgeton recreational area and the city park by land, air and water," says Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
Federal, state and local law enforcement are actively working the case, offering a $35,000 reward for information on her whereabouts.
"In the absence of physical evidence indicating that Dulce has been physically harmed, we continue to act under the premise that she is alive," says Webb-McRae.
Shortly after the alleged abduction took place, a description of a light skinned, possibly Hispanic man was released -- believed to be about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a thin build and acne.
Anyone who may have information about Alavez’s disappearance should contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI and select option 4, then select option 8.
