The hometown crowd was up bright and early today to cheer on Fair Haven's Conner Jaeger as he swam the 1500m freestyle preliminary race at the London 2012 Olympics.
Organizers at the Fair Haven Knights of Columbus expected just 50 people, but hundreds gathered to cheer on the hometown Olympian.
Jaeger is a graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School in Rumson.
He and his team finished in the top 8 and will compete in the medal round.
