Police are investigating a report of a possible attempted abduction in Howell.

It happened on Crooked Stick Court in the Adelphia Greens residential development.

Authorities say a 6-year-old reported that a white man driving a black SUV placed a plastic bag over her head while she was outside cleaning up toys.

They say when the girl's friends went inside, the man approached her and placed the bag on her head. They say the girl screamed and ran inside. She was not injured.

Police said that "it was reported that the man never tried to grab" the girl.

Howell officers were out canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing residents.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police. They are also asking neighbors to review any security camera for footage that could be helpful.
