Officials with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) have closed an Ocean County beach due to high bacteria levels. The DEP says the unusual levels were detected yesterday and today at Beachwood Beach West. Experts say swimming in low-quality waters can lead to ear, nose, throat and gastrointestinal issues.
