The hot weather didn't stop a group of volunteers working in Newark.

Volunteers gathered at Harmony Point Thursday amid 90-degree weather for one of the largest single-day builds in the history of Habitat for Humanity Newark.

More than 100 volunteers from JP Morgan teamed up with the organization to take part in a project featuring 23 homes.

"We're really excited to have 100 volunteers," says Habitat for Humanity Newark CEO Jeffrey Farrell. "It allows us to move the project along not only a little bit faster, but it provides volunteer labor, which helps reduce the cost of the units over time."

The team worked on building three-family condominium units for low-income families.
