Health officials say a resident from Barrington has tested positive for West Nile virus.
According to officials, the resident was recently admitted to a hospital displaying symptoms consistent with the virus.
Symptoms include, but are not limited to, fever, headache, altered mental status, and other neurologic dysfunctions.
The virus is the leading cause of mosquito-borne disease in the United States.
The best way to protect yourself from mosquitoes is to use insect repellent.
