With Election Day just three weeks away, candidates are bringing their message to the public. 

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont stopped by the Circle Diner in Fairfield Monday.

He was joined by First Selectman Michael Tetreau and State Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey.

Lamont has visited several diners during his campaign.

He says it gives him a chance to hear what people really care about and what they want from their next governor.

"I think that campaigning makes you a better governor. There's 169 towns, there's a 169 towns, each one has their own point of view and their own perspective and their own priorities," says Lamont. "If you're going to represent small towns, big cities, suburbs, you gotta get around and listen and that's what I'm doing." 

Lamont also picked up a national endorsement Monday as former Arizona congresswoman and gun control advocate Gabby Giffords threw her support behind his campaign.

The Connecticut Association of Realtors formally endorsed Republican Bob Stefanowski, calling him the leader who can deliver change.
