A number of kids in Monmouth
County were disappointed Thursday when one of the area’s biggest and most popular
sledding hills was closed, but the sled hill
at Holmdel Park will open today at noon.
The
morning crews spent some extra time clearing snow and ice in the parking lots
and salting and sanding the walkways leading up the large hill.
In efforts
to comply with executive order decisions, the hill remained closed Thursday
after the region's first significant snowfall in two years. But the freeholders
wanted kids to be outside and enjoy the snow.
Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone tells News
12, “When this was brought to the attention of the Monmouth County Board
Freeholders, we reversed the decision and are happy to report that the sledding
hill will be open today at noon."
Face coverings are required, and social distance if you
can.
