The governor initially signed the order into effect on Mach 21 to limit contact between people, and slow the spread of coronavirus.
The order was meant to restrict people from leaving their homes for anything other than essential jobs or activities, such as grocery shopping.
The governor says while employees can go back to their work places, they don't have to.
"Just because we're lifting the stay-at-home order, does not mean we are making you go back to the office, that's up to the business you are a part of and if you are an office,” says Gov. Murphy. “You have to have the safety protocols in place that keep you away from each other and a strong emphasis on face coverings," says Gov. Murphy.
The governor also says he'd like to see more people continue to work from home, even after the pandemic. Some corporations are considering that possibility.
