The Sugar Plum Ball is a chance for all little girls to be princesses for a day.

Elpha Farrier's daughter, Lillian, suffers from Trisomy 13. It's an extremely rare chromosomal condition which impairs her both physically and intellectually. Lillian struggles with average things, like walking and talking, but to her family she is so much more than her condition.

During her pregnancy, Elpha knew Lillian would always struggle, but the day before Thanksgiving she walked for the first time.

Lillian was able to go to her first-ever father-daughter dance this year.

So the Farrier family packed up Lillian's wheelchair and walker and headed to Chateau Briand in Carle Place for the Sugar Plum Ball.    

The event even had a special performance of the ‘Nutcracker,’ and then a chance for the girls to learn the Waltz with the most important men in their life, their dads.

The ball benefits the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County.
