Bergen County Democrats this morning lined up a new candidate to run for Congress in the 5th District.

Former News 12 political analyst Jim McQueeny has filed to run against Republican Congressman Scott Garrett.

NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson turned down a chance to run for the seat yesterday and now McQueeny is taking on the challenge against Congressman Garrett.

McQueeny is the former host of News 12's "Power and Politics" show. He previously was a political reporter for the Star Ledger and NJN. McQueeny also worked on the staff of Sen. Frank Lautenberg in the early 80s.
