A former medical office manager from Orange County has pleaded guilty to defrauding the New York State Health Insurance Program out of thousands of dollars.
The state comptroller's office says 50-year-old Gina Bradshaw, of Maybrook, was enrolled in NYSHIP through her husband's employment with the state.
When a NYSHIP member uses an out-of-network health care provider, they can have a portion of the medical costs reimbursed.
Authorities say Bradshaw submitted false claims saying she received medical services by two offices where she worked. She received over $12,000 in reimbursement checks as a result.
She was arrested this past September after a joint investigation by the comptroller, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, the FBI and state police.
