Investigators believe they have a lead in the hit-and-run of a 22-year-old Montclair State University student in Clifton this weekend.
Clifton police say they are looking for a dark-colored vehicle they believe to be a Ford F-150 pickup truck or a truck very similar to it.
Police say that the truck would most likely have front-end damage.
Anna Semioli is still in a coma and in critical condition at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson after being hit on Route 46 in Clifton.
Her family is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information about the driver who struck their 22-year-old daughter.
Semioli was found in the road along Route 46, just before the exit for Valley Road early Friday morning.
Through tears, Semioli's older sister Gina pleaded for the person responsible to turn themselves in.
"I wouldn't hit an animal and not stop to see what happened. And you just left a person? You left my little sister on the road," she says.
Because the Montclair State University student was hit by a tract of woods, cameras from a nearby Exxon station were unable to record the incident.
However, her friends say there is one lead.
"She was hit on her left side, so we're thinking the damage on the car has to be on the right passenger side. They're thinking it's an SUV because her injuries are higher up," says Gianna Martino.
Her friends also say that Semioli's car was on Montclair State University's campus at the time of the incident, and they believe she was meeting up with friends that evening.
A spokesperson for Montclair State University released a statement offering thoughts and prayers and saying that the university police department would cooperate fully with the investigation.
Anyone who may have any information about the incident is urged to contact the Clifton Police Department at 973-470-5262 or the Passaic County Prosecutor at 862-849-6019.
