Police in Bayonne are searching for cremated remains after they say a flower shop deliveryman stole them from a funeral home.

The incident occurred in November at the Migliaccio Funeral Home along Kennedy Boulevard. Police say Yamil Gonzalez, 28, worked as a driver for Say It With Flowers when he stole a box of ashes. Family members of the deceased are very upset. The remains have yet to be located.

Gonzalez was terminated from his job after his arrest. He is facing a theft of human remains charge. If convicted, Gonzalez could be sentenced to five to 10 years in prison.
