An Air India Boeing 777 flying from Mumbai to Newark Liberty International Airport had to be diverted to London's Stansted Airport due to some type of security alert.
London officials did not say what type of risk involved Flight 191, but the flight landed safely Thursday without incident.
Officials say that the plane was taken to an isolated area of the airport before it was given the all-clear.
Stansted Airport operations returned to normal and the flight continued on to Newark.
The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
