Firefighters quell 3-alarm blaze at Newark auto body shop

More than 110 firefighters were on the scene at around 9 a.m. at 687 Ferry St. It was under control by 10:26 a.m.

Firefighters in Newark extinguished a three-alarm blaze Saturday morning at an unoccupied auto body shop.
More than 110 firefighters were on the scene at around 9 a.m. at 687 Ferry St. It was under control by 10:26 a.m.
One firefighter was evaluated for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is being probed by the Newark Department of Public Safety’s Arson Unit.
