A celebration of Latin American culture took place Sunday in the Bronx.
The annual Carnaval de la Cultura Latina is a festival that celebrates Latin culture through food, music and performances.
The festival started in Queens 12 years ago and expanded to the Bronx for the first time last year.
The event was founded by Jose Tejada and the Dominican American Society of Queens, with a goal of promoting Latin American art, music, dance and food.
Police closed off Southern Boulevard between Westchester Avenue and East 163rd Street for the festivities.
Organizers say the celebration saw 80,000 people in Queens and 30,000 people in the Bronx last year.
Organizers also say they want to expand the festival to Brooklyn.
