Beach badges may be required this summer for a popular Monmouth County beach that used to be free.
Sea Bright Borough officials want to charge $8 per day to get onto Anchorage Beach, a popular surfing spot just north of the Sea Bright-Rumson Bridge.
The fee would be for weekends only and the plan would require two lifeguards for the beach.
The borough council still needs to approve the plan.
