The federal government is expected to crack down on some airlines - the main complaint? A lack of refunds.
The government is probing 20 airlines, expecting to enforce penalties against at least 10 of them.
The news comes after passengers with canceled flights experienced lengthy delays for refunds during the coronavirus pandemic.
Officials could fine the airlines or order them to stop a practice if it is determined to be unfair. No specific airlines have been named just yet, but the investigation remains open.
The Department of Transportation is also urging airlines to allow families with young children to sit together at no extra cost moving forward.
