EAST RUTHERFORD - A large-scale tailgate party was held this afternoon in East Rutherford for fans that couldn’t get down to MetLife Stadium for Super Bowl XLVIII.

An estimated 6,000 people attended the festivities, which included live music, food and activities for kids.

The event ended at 4:30 p.m. to give attendees time to get home before the big game between the Broncos and Seahawks.

Organizers hope those in attendance will stick around town at bars and restaurants to help boost the local economy.
