MAYWOOD - Middle school students at the Maywood Avenue School are getting in on Super Bowl fever with the "Souper Bowl of Caring."

Kids are bringing in boxed items, bagged food, jars and cans for the nationwide event that began almost two weeks ago. All of the food donated goes to the local food pantry.

"People are reluctant to come forward, and they shouldn't be," says organizer Donna Sacco. "Maywood is a great community. You only have to ask once for something and people are more than willing to support what you're doing."

The food drive ends Super Bowl Sunday. Non-perishable items and pre-packaged meals are especially needed.
