NEWARK - A unique choir performed in front of a crowd in Newark Wednesday to honor the upcoming Super Bowl.

The group, comprised of dozens of current and former NFL players, made its debut in 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona at Super Bowl XLII.

The choir is under the direction of Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Donnie McClurkin.

Members are both active and former NFL players, and have included Super Bowl champions, Pro Bowlers, Hall of Famers, All-Pros, team MVPs, and even Heisman Trophy winners.

Their message is of faith, love, and how to be at peace against all odds.

The choir will also perform Friday night at the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration at Madison Square Garden.
