UNION BEACH - A Monmouth County home that was damaged by Superstorm Sandy fell 15 feet off wooden supports as construction workers were attempting to raise it.

No one was injured in Monday's collapse in Union Beach. But the structure that Sara Serkus and her family called home for 29 years had to be demolished.

"Just dealing with it all over again, kind of like Sandy, just dealing with it all over again, losing everything twice," Serkus said of the loss.

Workers were preparing to pour a concrete foundation when the collapse occurred.

Union Beach's construction official says it appears the subcontractor undermined the wooden blocks causing the home to slide off the supports.

The demolition crew is removing rubble a little at a time so the family can sift through looking for their belongings.

The contractor raising the home was provided to them through the RREM program.  Serkus says her case worker told her damages would be covered and the home rebuilt.
