UNION BEACH - In one of the hardest-hit communities along the Shore, Oct. 31 held a special meaning this year.

After two years of devastating weather, residents in Union Beach came together to help Halloween make a comeback.

Trick-or-treaters took to the streets all over town, going house to house, even though some homes are still abandoned or in the process of being rebuilt.

Union Beach residents say they're thankful for how well their town has recovered, but insist they have plenty of work to complete.
