UNION BEACH - A Union Beach woman whose Sandy-damaged home is set to be torn down on Saturday is stuck in limbo as she waits for federal funding.

Andrea Kassimatis' house was severely damaged in the October 2012 storm, and she has been living in a trailer ever since. This weekend, a local construction company is scheduled to demolish her home for free so she can start rebuilding.

However, the partial shutdown of the federal government has made FEMA funding hard to come by.

The donated demolition will take place Saturday at 9 a.m.
