LAVALLETTE - Tropical Storm Andrea is causing concern in areas of the Jersey Shore left vulnerable by Sandy.
Temporary dunes in Lavallette were constructed to provide some protection from storm surge. However, after beachgoers complained they couldn't reach the water, the township carved out walkways to provide access.
Residents now worry that ocean water could breach through the openings during the next big storm.

The mayor of Lavallette has said these walkways are only temporary until the Army Corps of Engineers finishes work on beach replenishment and dune reconstruction.
