Authorities say 47 homes will be demolished and removed this week.

SAYREVILLE - Officials say 47 Middlesex County homes that were damaged by Superstorm Sandy will be demolished this week under Gov. Chris Christie's $300 million Blue Acres buyout program.

Workers were in Sayreville today demolishing and removing some homes along Weber Avenue.

The Blue Acres program, administered by the Department of Environmental Protection, funds buyouts for homes in flood-prone areas.
