POINT PLEASANT - A fundraiser event was held today in Point Pleasant for nurses who performed above and beyond the call of duty during Superstorm Sandy.

The Rock for the Nurses, Rock for the Shore all-day event held today at Jenkinsons featured live music, an all-you-can-eat buffet and other activities.

Attendees paid a $30 donation, and all proceeds are going to the Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund and the United Way of Monmouth and Ocean counties. The money raised will go toward helping local victims of last October's storm and the nurses of Ocean Medical Center in Brick.
