Salvation Army center helping Ocean County residents (2/25/13)

ORTLEY BEACH - The Salvation Army is continuing to help families in need after Hurricane Sandy.

The organization has opened an emergency assistance center in the A&P Shopping Center in Ortley Beach.

The center offers nonperishable foods, blankets and bedding, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, electric heaters, coolers, coats, baby supplies, children’s toys and clothing to those in need. To receive these items, residents must provide either their FEMA number or proof of residency in an affected area.

The location is open Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The center is closed on Sundays.
