SAYREVILLE - A Sayreville woman whose home was devastated by Superstorm Sandy is on a mission to return a photo album found in her basement to its rightful owner.
Volunteers came across the album while helping homeowner Monica Bonkowski clean out her home. She says the storm surge carried it into her basement along with six feet of water. The album's owner remains a mystery while Bonkowski and her husband remain displaced.
Bonkowski says she scanned the most vivid pictures that date back generations and posted them on her Facebook page.

"They have to mean something to somebody because you don't hold onto photos like this for no reason," said Bonkowski. "If I could just give them a glimmer of hope and gladden their heart a little, that would make me feel great."
