ESSEX COUNTY - An Essex County permanent generator store says more people are buying generators this year.
Ron Holtz, of Montclair Generator Solutions, says he has received a lot more calls requesting information on the large, permanent generators. They are more expensive, but are convenient because they run on natural gas instead of gasoline like smaller portable generators.
Montclair Generator Solutions says they install about 5 to 10 of these a month, but Holtz says whenever there is threat of a storm he's seen those numbers increase.

Around Sandy's one-year anniversary last week, Holtz says his phones lit up. "It reminded people of the pain, because a lot of people were out for up to two weeks," he says.
Gail Ingalls was one of those without power when Sandy struck. She ordered a permanent generator within two months of the storm.
