TRENTON - New Jersey's two senators and all of its House members have signed on to a letter that seeks "robust funding" for the state in the final federal allocation of Superstorm Sandy transit recovery funding.

The letter sent Monday to federal Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx and acting Federal Transit Administration Administrator Therese McMillan notes New Jersey Transit's total cost of repair and rebuilding stands at $809 million.

The agency has already received $342 million in funding, leaving a shortfall of $467 million in "unmet needs" that the lawmakers say encompass transit projects that are necessary for mobility, congestion relief, and quality of life throughout the state.
