MONMOUTH COUNTY - Regardless of what the weather looks like this weekend, Monmouth County beaches are determined to make their debut.

In Asbury Park, the boardwalk has been rebuilt, the beach is clean and lifeguard stands are in place.

Jersey Shore business owners say the Memorial Day weekend is important, even if the weather keeps beachgoers out of the water.

"It's unfortunate that it's not hot and sunny, but you know what, it's still the Jersey Shore," says Jason Soares, of Three Brothers Pizza in Belmar. "There's still plenty of things to do to have a good time down here."

Belmar's new boardwalk opened earlier this month, and oceanfront businesses destroyed by Sandy are back up and running.
