Looking Ahead: The 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season (5/31/13)

EDISON - Many along the Jersey Shore say they’ll be making some preparations ahead of this year’s hurricane season.

The season starts June 1 and lasts through November.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said last week there is a 70 percent chance that this year will be more active than an average hurricane season.

Last year, Hurricane Sandy devastated the region causing billions of dollars in damage in the Garden State.
