LAVALLETTE - The abundance of vacant homes in Shore areas post-Sandy continue to be a concern for businesses trying to stay afloat after rebuilding.
Ohana Grill on Route 35 in Lavallette just reopened after being closed for the winter.
Owner James Costello says his first summer back last year after the Superstorm was slow, but he's cautiously optimistic about this year.

"There's two obstacles right now," Costello says. "Getting people back in their houses. Slowly but surely houses are getting done. Every week another homeowner comes home, another light goes on. And the second obstacle is finishing up this road project that should be done in the next few months and gone for the summer."
Since the crowds are still thin on the barrier island, Ohana Grill will only be open on weekends until mid-June.
