LAVALLETTE - The tiny barrier island town of Lavallette celebrated a milestone today in the recovery of Superstorm Sandy.
Gov. Chris Christie joined residents and borough officials to mark the completion of the town’s new boardwalk. The old boardwalk was destroyed by the powerful storm.
The final nail in the boardwalk was hammered in marking a milestone in the recovery efforts.

The completion comes just in time for Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of the summer along the Jersey Shore.
