EDISON - Many viewers have told News 12 New Jersey that their banks have been holding on to flood insurance checks, demanding more and more documentation.

Emil Ferlicchi, of Toms River, claims his bank is holding $81,000 of his insurance money. Another viewer, Dawn Breslin Lynch, adds that she has never put in a flood insurance claim in 27 years and that it is unfair her check has still not arrived. Like so many other residents, Ferlicchi and Lynch's patience is running out.

Michael Capo told News 12 he believes the state should investigate the companies withholding payment and prohibit them from doing business.
