UNION BEACH - A group of volunteers from Israel has headed to Union Beach to help a family rebuild their home that was destroyed by Sandy last year.

Ten Israelis are in Union Beach as part of the relief group Jewish Helping Hands. Rabbi Joel Soffin, who founded the group, says helping others in need is their duty.

The group is being joined by about a dozen Jewish New Jersey residents.

The home belongs to a woman and her autistic adult son, who will visit the site Friday to view the progress made.
