HOBOKEN - Hoboken Assemblyman Ruben Ramos says the post-Sandy plans FEMA and state officials have are unrealistic for the city.
Plans are in the works to create new flood maps and raise some buildings to prevent future flood damage. Ramos says, however, that many buildings in his district can't be raised and that new flood maps would force too much of a cost on building owners through construction and flood insurance.
A grassroots movement called Stop FEMA Now is also opposing the new elevation standards.

Ramos says the only public hearing on this issue was held in Long Branch.
