BRICK TOWNSHIP - Former Camp Osborn residents say they are still years away from getting homes after Superstorm Sandy.

Nick Honachefsky, formerly of Camp Osborn, says it took seven property owners there three years to agree on a plan to rebuild with the housing association.

"It's crazy. I've been sleeping on the floor, on the couches for the last three years," says Honachefsky.

A natural gas fire sparked by Sandy engulfed bungalows, and flooding ripped some off their foundations. The debris has since been removed and the land leveled, but no construction has started.

The owners' plan will go to the Board of Adjustment in the spring. They hope to break ground in about two years.

The town also approved 13 homes to be built in the oceanfront area, but former residents there say they rented from the property owner and won't be able to afford new homes.
