MOONACHIE - Fairview Police Chief Frank Del Vecchio began a 100-mile run Thursday across New Jersey to raise money for Sandy victims.

Del Vecchio will run continuously from Moonachie, into Little Ferry, through Staten Island, and ending in Seaside Heights Friday afternoon.

"Everyone is looking for a sign of hope," Del Vecchio says. "And if I can complete this run, it means other people can go on with their lives."

Chief Del Vecchio has already raised more than $20,000. To donate, go to the Run for Hope Foundation's website.
