BRICK TOWNSHIP - Beachgoers in Brick Township don't seem to mind the darker colored sand on their beach.
The sand on Brick Beach 3 is a few shades darker than it used to be because it was dredged out of the Barnegat Bay after the Superstorm carried it there.
It was sifted and some of it has now been put back on the beach.

"It's a little bit darker but because they're replenishing it, but the sun will bleach it out along with the salt water," says Peter Gaffey, of Brick. "It'll take a little time but it will be fine."
The Township says the sand is being tested for possible contaminants before it's getting put back onto the beach.
