Two New Jersey residents will be bicycling and rowing their way from Cape May to Montauk, N.Y. to raise awareness about protecting the Jersey Shore from pollution.
Sean Dixon and Margo Pellegrino, with their group Clean Ocean Action, spent the day today in Seaside Park collecting signatures in an effort to get Congress to push for laws protecting the coastline.
"The offshore oil drilling that's trying to come back to our beaches, the pollution that's been happening on our beaches ? it?s really galvanized everybody that enjoys the Jersey Shore and the South Shore of Long Island into one large voice for a clean and healthy ocean,? said Dixon.
The group plans on visiting other New Jersey locations to rile support.
Anyone interested in the group?s upcoming events can visit the Clean Ocean Action website.
