List of September 11 Memorial Events

Ridgefield Park - 7 pm. The Ridgefield Park September 11th Memorial will be unveiled at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. The memorial will honor the four September 11th victims with a special link to the community. The memorial is located at Euclid Avenue and Center Street (near the fire bell).

Bergen County - 3 pm. A Remembrance Ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the 9/11 Memorial in Overpeck Park, 48 Fort Lee Road, Leonia, NJ. Families and friends of victims, first responders, elected officials and all Bergen County residents are invited and encouraged to join us and participate in this Remembrance Ceremony, as we remember the day and celebrate the lives of the over 3,000 victims of those tragic terrorist attacks.

Bergen County - 11 am. There will also be a Remembrance Ceremony at the County Administration Building at One Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Freeholder Public Meeting Room on the 5th Floor. All are welcome to attend.ESSEX COUNTY TUESDAY 9/11Livingston - 7 pm. Ceremony of Remembrance held at 9-11 Living Memorial Garden at The Oval, Memorial Park. Rain or shine.

Montclair - 7 pm. Montclair Township will hold a 9-11 Commemoration at the beginning of the Tuesday, September 11 Council conference meeting. The meeting will convene at 7 p.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room and move to the First Floor Council Chambers at 205 Claremont Avenue for the Commemoration. During the observance, the names of Montclair's 9-11 vicitims will be read and attendees will pause for a moment of silence. The meeting will reconvene in the Second Floor Conference Room immediately following the observance.

West Orange - 8 am. "Essex County Remembers," a solemn ceremony at the Essex County Eagle Rock September 11 Memorial on the Eagle Rock Reservation, Eagle Rock Ave. A brief program with family members who lost a loved one in the tragedies, elected officials and clergy members from diverse religious faiths will be held at 8 a.m. Memorial wreaths will be laid at the monument and a new American flag will be raised. A string quartet will perform reverent selections of music at the memorial site after the ceremony until 2 p.m.

HUDSON COUNTY TUESDAY 9/11Jersey City - 6 pm. Please join the New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Foundation's Empty Sky Memorial Ceremony Monday, September 10th, 2012 at 6 p.m. It takes place at Liberty State Park, rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair.

Bayonne - 7 pm. The Annual Interfaith Memorial Service and Candlelight Vigil honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and United Air Lines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. The service will also honor the victims of the attack on the World Trade Center on February 26, 1993. This year's event will take place on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at the 9-11 Memorial in Harbor View Park, at the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor (the former Military Ocean Terminal), and will begin at 7 p.m.

MIDDLESEX COUNTYTUESDAY 9/11Edison - 6 pm. Mayor Antonia Ricigliano, the Edison Council and the Edison Recreation Department respectfully invite all Edison residents to a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony scheduled for Tuesday evening, September 11th, at 7 p.m. at the Papaianni Park 9/11 Memorial Fountain. Edison Police and Fire Honor Guards, bag pipers, vocalists, clergy and township officials, will set the tone for this reflective occasion. Papaianni Park is located at the end of Municipal Boulevard, which is off Route 27 in Edison. Sayreville - 7 pm. The Borough will be hosting an 11th Annual Memorial Service to remember the victims of September 11, 2001. A Candlelight Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2012, rain or shine, at the Sayreville Borough 9/11 Memorial at Burke's Park, Washington Road. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive by 6:30 p.m.

MONMOUNTH COUNTY TUESDAY 9/11Middletown - 8:46 am. Members of the Middletown Township Committee will pay a silent tribute to the 37 residents who died in the World Trade Center tragedy with a wreath-laying at the Middletown WTC Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, September 11th at 8:46 a.m. Visitors are welcome at the Memorial Gardens from dawn to dusk.

MORRIS COUNTYSUNDAY 9/9Morris County - 7 pm. The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders invites the public to join them in observing the 11th anniversary of 9/11 at a Remembrance Service and Candlelight Vigil on Sunday, Sept. 9. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. at the Morris County September 11th Memorial on West Hanover Avenue in Parsippany-Troy Hills, across from Morris View Healthcare Center. The observance will include the reading aloud of the names of each of the Morris County victims and keynote remarks from former New Jersey Governor Donald DiFrancesco, who was governor of the state when the attacks occurred.

TUESDAY 9/11Chatham Borough - 7 pm. A memorial service will be held Friday at Memorial Park near the town library, 214 Main St.

Montville - 7:30 pm. Montville VFW Post 5481 and the Township of Montville will be holding a 9-11 Memorial Service on Tuesday, September 11th, 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 195 Changebridge Road, Montville.

OCEAN COUNTY TUESDAY 9/11Brick Township - 6 pm. The township will hold a ceremony on September 11th, 2012 at 6 p.m. at the "Angel in Anguish" monument located in Windward Beach. It will feature a candlelight vigil in memory of those we lost on 9/11. Toms River - 6:30 pm. The Unitarian Universalist Church will have honor the victims and survivors of the 9/11 attacks during a special ceremony. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the event commences at 7 p.m.

PASSAIC COUNTY TUESDAY 9/11Bloomingdale/ Butler - 7 pm. In observance of the 11th Anniversary of the "attack on America" the boroughs of Butler and Bloomingdale will be holding a "Candlelight Walk" on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Please line up at the Bloomingdale Municipal Building at 7 p.m. Its located at 101 Hamburg Turnpike in Bloomingdale. The walk will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m. and proceed along Hamburg Turnpike to Main Street, Butler and continue on to Butler Park for a memorial service. Glow sticks will be provided.

Haledon - 7 pm. The borough will host a September 11 Memorial Service Tuesday Sept. 11, 2012, at the Braen Memorial Park Community Band Shell on Roe Street. The candlelight ceremony begins at 7 p.m.

Hawthorne - 7 pm. The Ground Breaking Ceremony for Hawthorne's 9/11 Memorial will be held on Tuesday, September 11th at 7 p.m. at 970 Goffle Road, between Ambulance Corps Building and Fire Rescue 5 Headquarters.

SOMERSET COUNTYTUESDAY 9/11Somerset County - 8:46 am. Members of the Somerset County Board of Freeholders, led by Freeholder Director Patricia Walsh, will place a wreath at the county's 9/11 Memorial at the corner of Main and Bridge streets in Somerville on Tuesday, Sept. 11. At 8:46 a.m., the ceremony will begin with a brief tolling of the bell at the top of the nearby historic courthouse. The Freeholders will read the names of the 39 Somerset County residents killed in the attacks 11 years ago. "Innocent Souls," a song by the late Don Ross, will be played.

Bernardsville - 6:30 pm. Bernardsville Public Library will host a 9/11 Remembrance at 6:30 p.m. at the library flagpole in front of the building, weather permitting, on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Members of municipal government will be present. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held inside the library, located at 1 Anderson Hill Road.

Bridgewater - 4 pm. Bridgewater Township will hold a memorial ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 4 p.m. in front of the township's 9/11 Monument at the Municipal Complex, located at 100 Commons Way.

Green Brook - 6:30 pm. The Green Brook Township 9/11 Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Top of the World Park. To reach the park, take Route 22 to Warrenville Road North, turn left at Greenbriar Road and then left at Green Valley. The park will be straight ahead at the stop.

Montgomery - 1 pm. Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 will hold a ceremony Sunday, Sept. 9, at 1 p.m. to mark the completion and dedication of its 9/11 Memorial. The fire house is located at 529 Route 518, Skillman, NJ 08558. The event will be held rain or shine. This memorial was designed and hand built by members of Station 46, with contributions from friends, in memory of all those lost on Sept. 11, 2001. North Plainfield - 8:15 am. The North Plainfield Police Department and North Plainfield Fire Department will conduct a silent procession down Somerset Street at approximately 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11. It will conclude in front of the fire department's memorial bell at the corner of Somerset Street and Lincoln Place, where a brief moment of silence will be observed. After that, a short reading and prayer will conclude the ceremony.

Peapack-Gladstone - 8:30 am. Peapack-Gladstone's ceremony will start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Liberty Park at Main Street and Park Avenue. Wreaths will be placed, at 8:46 and 9:03 a.m., in memory of those killed in the World Trade Center, Pentagon and United Air Lines Flight 93 attacks.

Warren - 9 am. Warren will hold a ceremony at the municipal building flagpole on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 9 a.m. The township also will hold an unveiling ceremony for a 9/11 Heroes Monument at the Municipal Complex on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m.

Watchung - 5:30 pm. Watchung will hold its annual ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 5:30 p.m. on the Village Green, across from Borough Hall.

UNION COUNTY TUESDAY 9/11Roselle Park - 7 pm. The borough will host a remembrance ceremony in honor of those who lost their lives Sept. 11, 2001. The service will be held at Kelly-Kaulfers' Memorial Park.

Westfield - 6:30 pm. Commemoration Ceremony for the 11th Anniversary of 9/11. There will also be a lying of the wreath. Held at the Westfield 9/11 Memorial on North Ave. and East Broad St.

Union County - 6 pm. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders would like to invite members of the community to honor the memory of the 60 Union County residents who perished in the 9/11 attacks by visiting the Union County September 11th Memorial on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Echo Lake Park in Mountainside. Members of the Honor Guard will be on site presenting the national colors and the public will be able to light candles in memory of those lost in the attacks.
