Presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton launched attacks against each other this week.
A CNN-ORC poll showed that Clinton is leading Trump 47 percent to 42 percent.
Clinton has consistently led Trump in New Jersey, but many residents say that they are not passionate about either candidates.
Polls show that Trump supporters say that he has the edge on two major issues: the economy and terrorism.
"For the war on terror, with everything going on with ISIS, he's a perfect candidate for that because he's going to step in and actually make a difference," says Metuchen resident Mark Magariello.
But other voters in the Garden State say that they don't feel comfortable voting for Trump, especially with comments he's made that some feel are racist.
Trump is facing heavy criticism for his rhetoric about Islam, and polls show he's struggling with a diverse electorate.
"America's already a melting pot. We don't need her to boil over," says Edison resident Yvette Schmidt.
Hundreds of GOP delegates have said that they plan to try to block his nomination at the Republican National Convention, which starts July 18.
Trump replaced his campaign manager earlier this week.
