A former aide to Gov. Chris Christie has finished testifying in the George Washington Bridge lane-closing case.
Bridget Kelly's testimony concluded the defense's case Wednesday. Jurors are expected to hear closing arguments Thursday.
Kelly and former Port Authority executive Bill Baroni are charged with creating traffic jams to punish Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich, who didn't endorse Gov. Christie's 2013 re-election campaign.
Sokolich is a Democrat, while the governor is a Republican.
The trial is in its sixth week. Kelly testified for parts of four days and was questioned repeatedly by prosecutors on emails she sent around the four days of gridlock in Fort Lee in September 2013.
She testified that an email she sent saying "time for some traffic problems" was not indicative of a political retaliation plot.
Former Port Authority official David Wildstein pleaded guilty and testified against Kelly and Baroni.
