WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey patrolman who proudly refers to himself as a "deer whisperer" is celebrating his latest rescue, helping a baby deer out of a storm drain.

Woodbridge Patrolman Timothy Majek says he was at work Wednesday when he heard about the baby deer stuck in a sewer drain near an apartment complex. 

Majek was able to lift off the sewer grate and lift out the uninjured fawn. He then released the baby deer into the woods where residents say they saw the baby deer's mother.

A 22-year veteran of the department, Majek calls himself an animal lover, previously helping to untangle the antlers of two male deer that were caught in netting.
