Trouble is brewing for some craft beer artisans across the United States, including many of the 134 in New Jersey.
According to data from a trade organization, closures for independent breweries are on the rise.
In the first three months of the year, at least 53 establishments shut their doors -- up from 42 over the same period in 2021.
The Brewers Association says more closures are expected. The group says the small businesses are having trouble keeping up with increasing costs, rising rents and supply chain issues.
