Two crossing guard accidents less than one week apart in the Garden State have prompted the release of a new training video.
The State Police Chiefs Association and an insurance group sponsored the video, which will be distributed to almost every New Jersey town. The video updates crossing guards on different skills to reflect the increasing number of drivers.
One Washington Township crossing guard, who is featured in the video, says many drivers need to slow down and be patient when driving in school zones.
Along with more training, police are encouraging crossing guards to have their eyes and ears checked.
