Crews responded to multiple water main breaks in Linden Saturday, cutting water to dozens of residents.
New Jersey American Water officials say the first of the water main breaks was reported Saturday morning, affecting Raritan Road, West Munsell Avenue; Brook Street; Blancke Street, Hussa Street and West Elizabeth Avenue.
Crews were working simultaneously to repair seven water main breaks. In most cases, homes and businesses are without water or have low water pressure.
It was not immediately clear what caused the water mains to break, but Friday’s rainy weather may have had an impact. Officials expected to have the mains repaired and water restored sometime today.
